Downloaded WDO.. Ran a Quick scan..
It came up with a malware being detected in my system.
Trojan:Win32/QHosts.L
So shall i proceed to Full scan..Or take some action now itself(The malware detected has been removed already).
Asking cos the full scan is something which takes time..
Thanks
@karlsnooks
Thanks, Shall do the same..!!
I have followed all the suggestion made by mebers here.
1.Ran a complete scan usng WDO.
Result: Found Trojan:Win32/QHosts.L in quick scan and few other trojans Trojan downloaders in full scan. But those which were detected in full scan were not in C drive.
2. Made out from where the sound is coming. Its from HDD itself. Its a type of 'kir kir' sound. I have recorded it & uploaded the audio. Please listen to the auudio and excuse for its poor quality. the sound u hear throughout is the fan sound of CPU and the sound i specified starts at 0.08sec in the audio clip.
3.Ran SF Diagnostic Tool again and i have uploaded the result here in zip file. But it encountered a problem in copying hosts file, where it showed it could not find C:\Hosts.txt
Kindly advise
Thanks

#1.Malware anywhere is bad. Malware is clever and will hide in many places. Gone are the days when all you needed to do is a quick scan.
Did you let WDO remove the malware? Yes/No
#3. I am not familiar with the tool. I'll ask some others. With Win 7, then the location of hosts is:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
#2. Immediately backup all data dear to your heart.
First, see this tutorial on how to run sfc /scannow and post the sfcdetails.txt file mentioned there.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Second, from an elevated command prompt, run CHDKSK /R X: over all of your drives.
Do not actually use X: The X is to be replaced by an actual drive letter.
Third, burn SeaGates Tool for DOS to a CD and run. Use the "DOS" version and not the windows version:

Seatools for DOS tutorial
@karl
Thanks..
Shall follow them..
My another doubt is regarding is MSE.. Does installing MSE pose problems if the Windows copy is not genuine.? Its for my friend. Thanx
Yep.
We can not assist you with an illegal version of Windows.
Please do not waste your time and ours with questions re illegal versions of Windows.
Ok. Sorry. That question was asked by my friend. Not me. Sorry for that. I shall advise him to get a legal copy of windows asap. Im sorry abt that
1.I have removed all the malwares detected by WDO.
2.Ran sfc /scannow .... (sfcdetails.txt attached.)
3.Ran CHKDSK /R for all drives. Repaired badsectors.
4.But this SeaTools made me to loose all my hopes.
Ran SeaTools for DOS and the Short Test returned with failure report. :-( Now i have started backing up all my data. Anything else to do? Thanks
