BSOD frequently when browsing, rarely anywhere else: 0x000000F4

    0x000000F4
    Collecting data for crash dump
    Initializing disk for crash dump

I've lurked around on a lot of websites looking over all the information available before posting here. I replaced a Seagate 1TB HDD with a Caviar 1TB, and that is when the problems began. I am leaning towards the Caviar just being a dud of an HDD, but I want to talk this out with some people before I switch my HDD.

I've followed all the standard "make sure your collection is turned on" steps in the Startup and Recovery settings. All drivers are up to date. No Malware on the PC. Temps and voltage appear fine. 15 Hours worth of passes on the RAM turned out ok. Chkdsk returned no errors.

I've seen that problem with nearly every 0x000000F4 error, and it has yet to be solved. For whatever reason, no one with the 0x0F4 error can ever produce a minidump , which makes this all the more frustrating.

So, in essence, computer worked fine, switched HDD, and now computer doesn't work. The entire PC is brand new.

Go to: C:\Windows\Minidump. Are there files in there? If so, zip them and attach them to your next post.

Nothing there. I've been through all the steps to make sure that the dump is supposed to be filed.

Write Event to System Log is checked, along with Small Memory Dump (256) selected, with %systemroot%\Minidump as the destination.

The first time the log never appeared, I went and made my own Minidump folder. It never dumps, though. I've tried Kernal Memory Dump as well to no success.

It seems the HDD completely shuts down between telling me "Beginning to write the dump" and actually writing the dump.

    Code:
AMD High Definition Audio Device	HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&SUBSYS_00AA0100&REV_1002\5&36865D6C&0&0001	This device is disabled.
    Enable this device.

If possible, go to another machine, and plug in that HDD to it. See if it happens on the other machine aswell.

I recently disabled the AMD High Definition Audio Device as a test to fix it, I forgot to re-enable it. Someone in an 0xf4 thread on another forum mentioned this as a potential fix. In my case however, it didn't do the trink. Thank you for reminding me to re-enable!

As soon as I get a moment to go to another machine, I will. It's definitely the next step I'm taking though.
