Need help when you have some time. BSOD.
Hello folks. I know most of you are having good summer times, so I’m pretty sure this will be looked at in time. I know I don’t rush about in the summer. Ok, I’ve run through these forums since May, looking at all the BSOD threads I could find. Doing pretty much everything I could, step by step. But to no avail. One big thing is a brand new hard drive with windows 8 on it and it still crashed. No BSOD but the sad face and crash report (win8’s bsod?). Which leads me to believe video card or psu.
Anyways, to win7. I’ve scanned scanned and re-scanned for some kind of Trojan or root kit. Online, offline, at boot, in safe mode. No luck. Formatted. No luck. I’ve run driver verifier and it all starts and continues to run fine. It never did a BSOD on me with verifier running. I’ve ran memtest86 for three days with no errors. I’ve run windows built in memory diagnostic program with no errors. I’ve scanned the hard drives for any kind of corruption and nada.
I can’t even pin it down to a sequence of events. It hasn’t happened while I’ve been playing a game (Skyrim on high which should have been taxing the vid card) or working in Word or Photoshop but it will just go. Boom. I even use different browsers to try and test that but it doesn’t matter. Everything ran perfect till may 24th. My first BSOD. From there, it’s been a pain. I had just bought my new mobo and cpu in March 2012 and ended up sending them back. But when I was running my old mobo\cpu the BSOD continued and that had not happened before. Now I’m on my replacement mobo\cpu (listed in specs) and with win7 or win8 getting the crashes. Still random as far as I can tell but there most be something. Something small? A driver? Something big?
I’ve used SF Diag Tool.exe and followed the correct posting steps. I hope. I’m hoping a look at these dumps will help you because I don’t know what to look for and using bluescreenview only gives me the highlighted ntoskrnl.exe as the culprit. But from what I’ve read in these forums and elsewhere, that can be oh so many things.
So. Format and re-installed. Check.
New hard drive and new windows. Check.
Memtest. Check.
HD check disks. Check.
Verifier. Check.
Try new vid card or psu… not yet. But getting there.
My rig.
AMD FX-8120 3.10ghz
Asus M5a99x EVO
Corsair XMS DDR3 8gb ram
win7 64 bit home premium sp1
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti
Corsair 850t psu
LG Blu-Ray drive
Tsstcorp DVD Drive
2 WD 2tb drives. Green. (was told that’s bad for some reason)

Be on as much as I’m allowed with this random system and thank you very much for ANY help when you can get the time.
