10 times BSOD while playing Assassin's Creed or browser games

    Hi all,

I experience for quite a while BSODs (10 so far) when playing Assassin's Creed Revelations or a browser game. I can sometimes play it for hours but often it just crashes after 5 minutes, giving me errors like
    Unknown DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    or
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

(just two examples out of 10 crash dumps)

Most of them are showing system files, with one pointing towards your video drivers.

Start by updating to the latest driver version

    AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

    Step 1 > Notebook
Step 2 > Auto detect and install.

You're looking for support for the 6480G.

Do you recall updating any drivers/Windows update around the time this issue started?

Atm, I'd be leaning towards a software issue rather than hardware (ie faulty memory)

Thanks. I can't recall any Windows update which could cause this.

I updated it to the latest driver version.

    No, BSOD so far

i have been having this problem too it could be your drivers, it could be your power supply, it could be your hard disk, could be your registry , and much more what i suggest you do is go into task manager and go into performance tab and open your resource manager start your game alt tab and see if anything is spiing if it's your harddrive

    Download Hard Disk Sentinel
download that for free and check the health of your hard drive if it's low you may need a new hard drive but even if it's not it's good to know where the health of your hard drive is anyway

and if you wouldnt mind giving me your computer specs if that doesnt work then i can help more

    no problem.
The hard rive is in good health. I will take a look in the performance tab of the task manager when starting the game.

If that doesn't help, I have the computer specs listed below. Just in case

    computer specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    BIOS: InsydeH2O Version CCB.03.61.22F.33
Processor: AMD A4-3300M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (2CPUs), ~1.9GHz
    Memory: 4096MB RAM

    System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP Pavilion g7Notebook PC

Yeah, I have one installed. My bad, forgot to post it

    AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6480G

well, WhoCrashed gave me following information:

On Sun 12.08.2012 00:59:29 GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: unknown_module_00000000`24a48d4c.sys (Unloaded_Unknown_Module_00000000`24a48d4c+0x1B5B7377)
    Bugcheck code: 0xD1 (0x48, 0x9, 0x1, 0xFFFFF88005B60F2A)
    Error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: unknown_module_00000000`24a48d4c.sys .
    Google query: unknown_module_00000000`24a48d4c.sys DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

On Sat 11.08.2012 01:00:22 GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\081112-18080-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x7F1C0)
    Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF87F8A9848D0, 0x0, 0xFFFFF80003172EFD, 0x5)
    Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver which cannot be identified at this time.
