windows 7 hanging and crashing but not on xp

    yes im allready a it tech but only lopow level done reinstall, clean and upgrades from stystem many times on many diofferent computer and this is the first time i have come accross this error as i said if i load the computer in win 7 safe mode works fine other then being in safe mode but if i try and load up normally after the welcome screen when you get to the desktop it freezes

    yeh i can use win7 to do a dump file as it freezes but i will give it ago and repost with the findings etc

    Please upload any dump files you are getting from your Windows 7.

    Also perform a clean start up following the tutorial below.

    i can no install the updates or do anything on windo3ws 7 as it freezes not long afdter loading up thats why i used the tool staraigt away before it froze on me there is no other programs installed other then the os it hangs in normal mode but is fine in safe mode

    Unplug ALL USB devices except the mouse and keyboard... (this should be done on a clean install as well) So people don't do this when they install an OS...I always do myself. I'm not sure if you did this or not, so if you didn't, then do so, and re-install/format and take it from there. Perhaps, you have a device that is causing this to be your issue... Even unplug external HDD's. I found my External 3TB HDD was causing ALL my USB devices to have a delayed Start up...You have nothing to lose here...

    Also, I would go into your BIOS (usually at start up, you have to hit the F2 or Delete key, it varies on computers) and turn off (disable) your A: drive which is your Floppy...no one uses them anymore...

    all you suggested has been done it is running on a clean partition formatted etc there is only mouse and keyboard plugged in and it still hangs

    i had another go at installing all the updates but the os hangs and then it wont download the updates or install them
