No worries...I understood what you meant...Good Luck..I may even run into this problem when I take my 10 yr old Dell with XP on it and put Windows 8 on it....I'll soon see....I don't mind, as I have my HDD (Hard Drive) partitioned with XP on one, Linux on the other and will be putting Windows 8 on the other partition. This is just my Tech Support Machine. I hook up other HDD's to it and safe data and what not for people... I built a Windows 7 Gaming Machine that I have been using for the past 4-5 yrs now....I don't like to hook up other peoples HDD's to that, in case they have virus's or other malicious stuff on them. So, I'm not sure it will work either. I did the Windows 7 upgrade adviser as you did and it passed, but we'll soon see..

I know, but at least it will test the theory of weather a MOBO is too old to handle it or not. I have a Dell...

This is what Speccy tells you:
    Manufacturer Dell Inc.
    Chipset Vendor Intel
    Chipset Model i925X
    Chipset Revision B1
    Southbridge Vendor Intel
    Southbridge Model 82801FB (ICH6)
    Southbridge Revision 03

I'm also attaching what Speccy adds for your specs. it shows you everything...

Ok, I got 8 on a 10yr old PC...It's running fine...I really think you should contact the Motherboard Tech support....You shouldn't have this issue....
