    BSOD ever since I assembled my PC in may of 2012


    these are the specifications:
    1 x SanDisk Extreme SDSSDX-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MAIN DRIVE THAT HOUSES OPERATING SYSTEM)

    Since I purchased and installed these components together in May of 2012, I have had more BSOD since them that I had with my last PC which I had for 5 years (1 episode).. I checked the Memory using a MemTest, updated all my drivers. the only BSOD that I can contain is when I hit "start" button to close the PC down, If I use Glary Utilities to remove corrupted registry entries that particular BSOD goes away. Recently, the Windows explorer crashes for no reason or when I attempt to delete a folder, it crashes until I highlight the folder than use the "delete" button.

    I have virtually all the BSOD captured in BlueScreenView however most of the crashes are different. I do have Norton Internet Security 2012.

    as you can see there are all different but most of the bug string are from MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

    Any clue would be appreciated. It just crashed again when attempting to locate the BSOD file.

    how many passes did you do the memtest for each RAM ??

    You would need to do at least for 6-8 passes in order to confirm its not the RAM.... most of the BSOD are severe memory management errors....

    Please remove that Asus Software, Uninstall Norton and install Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows at least while we debug your problem.

    I also found this in problem devices:SBRE ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

    Check in the Device Manager for the Device entry with SBRE. Once you find the device, uninstall the device by following this step:

    a. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button.
    b. Click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click Device Manager. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    Note: If you are unable to find any device with any marks then check by enabling hidden devices.
    c. In the device manager click on View and later click on Show hidden devices and check if you find any device with exclamation mark and uninstall it.

    Once you uninstall the driver for the device visit the manufacturer’s website and download and install the latest drivers for the device.

    When I assemblied my PC, I did forget to install the drivers because this was the 1st PC I assembled, all of the others were Pre Built by Dell or HP. I did see a ton of exclamation points. Those I fixed in June. The error you see is that recently. I will uninstall the NIS and the Asus program and follow up with this SBRE ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000 driver. Thank you both for your reply. it is annoying when you purchase 1,265 pounds ($2,000) and it is BSOD virtually every day at randon. Makes me want to chuck the thing out the window and go back to a pre built one.

    You are correct about the SBRE. It was hidden, hence I did not see it BUT it is not operational (exclamation mark). Under services, it is stopped because the file is not found on my computer. I have done what you told me to. I inform you two if the BSOD reappears after these ideas are implemented.

    So far no BSOD. I uninstalled virtually every programs I do not use (including the Norton Internet Security 2012 and ASSUS programs and installed Microsoft Essentials instead for testing purposes) I did engage in System File Checker tool and it found a lot of corrupted files in this log I uploaded. Would this causes the random BSODs? I am going to attempt to repair them.

    This file is event viewer logs from the time I assembled this computer. I am going over each event to determine if there is a commonality.

    I discovered the issue. Centaur78 said "severe memory management errors". I ran the test again and after 20 minutes I had 14 errors. Before it even finished the 1st pass, I had 710 errors. Since the BSOD occured randomly (clicking on a site, watching a movie, multitasking) and I had 16 Gb memory it was not the entire 4 sticks but since the price is less tha 63 pounds ($100.00), I ordered Kingston Blu instead (the entire 16GB) of the Cosair I have and will test the memory overnight when I install it to insure there are 0.00% errors when I receive it.

    At 4 passes and 8 hours I had 130,820 errors on the RAM. I hope it is not the RAM slots or the motherboard though the ASUS programs indicates the voltage is within specifications.

    Installed the new Kingston 1600 mhz 16 GB last night, ran the memtest86 this morning. Prior to going to work, it had 1 pass and 0.00% errors. I believe this issue is resolved. Just for laughs I install the Corsair RAM, one by one and booted up my PC, and it crashed with the BSOD that I have always been getting. So one definitely (I stopped checking after the second stick) has bad memory addresses.

Hello SF :) I've just assembled a pc using different parts from old computers. For some reason my pc will turn on, but my screen just stays black. I've tried several graphic cards, nothing. How do I determine if its really the motherboard failing without a screen :)?
