BSOD - playing lotro - bccode: 116
OS: Win7 Ultimate x64
The issue is intermittent and I have yet to be able to consistently recreate the problem using stress test apps. I can usually get a few hours up to a couple of days with no issue, but eventually the pc will freeze/hang or bsod during 3d applications. Occasionally the display adapter will 'recover' when in a 2d environment, but this is rare(or I'm just not around when/if it happens).
Things I've tried:
Updating drivers as well as rolling back to old drivers for both Mobo(MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum Model: MS-7374 nforce chipset) and Video Card(XFX 9600 GSO 768mb nvidia) trying to find a good set. Currently running latest drivers for both.
BIOS updated to latest
Power Supply swapped out and then put back when the pc continued to crash.
Pulled RAM and tried different configs of the two 2gb sticks looking for a bad stick or bad slot. I got the pc to run for a few more days without a crash on one stick, but it eventually locked up. Back to running both sticks in slots 1 and 2.
I think I may be looking at a bad video card, but without a spare one to test, I've been trying everything else before going out and buying one. Thanks for any help with this. If I can get a definitive cause of the problem before I start throwing money into random replacement parts that would be great.![]()
