I didn't buy windows 7, it came with my laptop. Everything should be valid if you need me to check.

As for leaving it idle, it most likely will lock up instead of bsod. But I will do my best to try. Thanks for the help so far

Also: if it means anything, I can instigate a crash(more likely freeze)via running a game with 3d rendering. Not sure if relevant though.

Not a question of valid, I assume that it is. Is the key number on the computer?

What do I need to look for exactly physically on board or in the system?

It should be on the computer case. It may say certificate of authenticy
There is a large number/alapha separated by dashes. Dont worry, I can see from your Dmps that your version is validated. Dont put the number here, just tell me if you have one.

I have a sticker like the first image on that link on the bottom of my laptop, but it's completely worn away and is all yellow/green. All that is distinguishable is the Microsoft copyright 2005 logo and a small link to the bottom left that is How to Tell - Home

    Would it be anywhere else?

I found my serial num, but had a crazy crash where the screen had black lines going up and down and random colors flashing before I was met with a black screen.. I fear my comp will be unusable soon if I don't do something.
The crash occurred while verifier was on.
