BSOD while playing using computer, ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0

Hello, recently I have just built my new computer and everything seemed to be going fine. However I had gotten a BSOD when trying to copy a large amount of file from my external. Although I didn't get the dump file of it (as that wasn't in the settings at the time) I assumed it was due to copying from the external and just copied smaller files and it hasn't happened again.

However, I was just playing League of Legends and my computer decided to randomly BSOD. So I downloaded SF_Diagnostic_Tool and zipped the folder so I was wondering as what the problem is.

BlueScreenView says the crash address is: ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0 and I wasn't sure if this was a hardware or software problem as I have only received the parts less than a week ago. My specs are:

    Gigabyte Z77-D3H motherboard.
    Intel Core i7-3770 processor.
    8gig of Corsair Vengeance RAM.
    GeForce GTX 560 graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first, you are to run RAM - Test with Memtest86+ . run it for 8 passes.

As the crash is hardware related, you are suggested to take two more tests

    Let us know the results.

Hello Arc, I have run Memtest as you have suggested for 8 passes (didn't expect it to take 8 hours but everyone needs sleep eh?) and it told me that there were 0 errors.

I was then unable to run the stress test as the site chose not to load for me, so I decided to then run the chkdsk using the method mentioned.

Usually everybody runs the memtest when they sleep :)

If the Free Software - GIMPS link does not work for you, try Download Prime95 27.7 Build 2 Free- Softpedia.

    How chkdisk went?

After taking the hard disk tests, if there are further BSODs, I would suggest you to enable Driver verifier.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

When driver verifier is enabled, the further crashes (if any) will contain more information about those crashes.

Well I can assume the chkdsk went fine. As it was taking so long I had gone to do other things and when I had came back it was on the the windows login screen.

Now if I recall right, the other link had said while running prime 95 to check your hardwares temperature while it's running. Does the program tell me this information or is there some other way to find this out?

To look at the hardware temperature, the best way is to use Speccy.

    2 things:

1: Speccy is taking a considerable amount of time to download, around 1 hour (which is weird as our internet isn't capped atm and everything else is fine) so I may not be able to get it.

2: While waiting for a reply I decided to do a bit of gaming, it all went fine until I BSOD'd again. So I have now done what you said and turned on Driver Verifier for future crashes. I have also attached the DMP file that I have just gotten incase you wish to see it.

Edit: speccy has decided it wants to download, with prime 95 should I be running the test with all of the default setting or is there something specific you want me to turn on/off?

Edit2: after turning on Driver Verifier and just general internet browsing I BSOD'd again (boy this is fun) so I have attached the DMP file from that to this post also.

Hello, now I'm not sure whether or not I should start for this or not, as the issue was not solved. If a new thread is to be created then please let me know.

However, about a week or so ago I did a complete reformat and reinstalled Windows. I have also recently (last couple of days) updated all the drivers for my motherboard from their website.

Using a program called "WhoCrashed" it had been telling me the same culprit:
    ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x7F1C0) with the error being "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
Yet occasionally it had told me that "ntkrnlmp.exe (nt!KeBugCheckEx+0x0)" was also the problem, yet this was at the exact same time as the ntoskrnl.exe happened.

I have run "sfc /scannow" and have gotten no errors, yet have not run Prime95 as I was unsure what settings to turn on for it.

It is also worth noting that I was using Avast antivirus earlier today, and a couple of the BSOD had been because of that, so I have uninstalled it and am now using AVG with so far, no problem with it.

Any further help would be appreciated and if I am needed to provide more information, then please let me know.
