Can I ask the obvious? does the cpu go back down when you stop moving the mouse? Why is this a problem. This is normal behavior. Mine (4 gigs ram dual core2 32bit) goes to 54% is i continually move the mouse.

What does this behavior do that is a problem?

He says it goes up to about 30% when he not using the mouse also.

Just as a matter of interest, will you download and install Malwarebytes, and run a scan on your machine.

jfar is correct above. Even though without moving the mouse, I still get 30%.

Kevin... This is normal behavior ... My dual 3.4Ghz does the same ... ZigZags machine does the same thing ... If you are having a problem with the performance of the OS ... not merely a CPU utilization observation, we will be glad to address it, otherwise, this thread has pretty much run its course...

In the future stick with official versions from MS ... Newsgroups are not where you want to get them..

Also, if this is normal behavior, why isn't it happening with my Vista machines?

Free 90 day trial --==> Here

Because your dealing with Windows 7 and not Vista... you still haven't described what problems you are having ... your cpu utilization is not a problem ... its normal occurrence .....
