It was a custom build computer I bought from ebay. I did not receive a manual for it.
I'll try to download the drivers from the HP website.
Yes, I tried installing from the desktop and it is still not finding a drive to install to. Interestingly enough, I forgot to disconnect my Data drive last time and that drive showed up fine. I disconnected the drive and tried again, and then once again, no drive to install to.

Your mobo will have a Manual on its SUpport Downloads webpage for the exact model. No need to continue guessing or wait for someone with the board.
Well. I was in the process of deactivating RAID in the Intel Control Center when I got a BSOD. Now I can't boot at all and I get an iastor.sys BSOD. with "STOP: 0x0000007E".
I booted to command prompt for clean and in "list disk" there are "no disks found".
When I try to boot from DVD for a clean install, I get a BSOD, same as above.
When I try to boot into recovery, I get a BSOD, same as above.
Are you following the Manual?

If this is not the HP notebook you have in your System Specs then please update your Specs so someone here can look up what you need to know if you are unable to do it.
Yes. I was attempting to deactivate the RAID as told from the HP support site. After that it went all down hill. I used the tutorials on how to use diskpart and load drivers from usb but it immediately goes back to BSOD.

I'm looking on the HP site now. I honestly don't know the motherboard or where I'd look for the specs if i opened up the case.
I bought it offline. From what the guy on ebay told me, it was an HP that was customized with the SSD, which I assumed was non standard for the HP laptop. I did the HP help and support and the model number came back as DV7T-7000 media center computer. I guess 16 GB of RAM is not standard for this model either.
I sent him several other emails about specific specs and anything else that was customized.

I don't see much about the RAID controller. You're likely going to need to get into BIOS setup to figure out how to disable RAID to install normally to a single HD. Then I'd disable one HD or physically unplug it to do the install.
Maybe there is another SATA controller choice besides the Intel that will be less problematic.
