Numerous random (originally) BSOD's starting on 9/2/12
Numerous BSOD failures starting on 9/2/12 occurring randomly. Some occurred during normal usage and others occurred during idle times. Interestingly, 6 occured at about 10:00 AM. Most of the ones on the 20th and 21st were induced by me when I ran Dells PC Checkup program trying to troubleshoot the problem. So now I don't have to wait for the random occurrence, I can induce one whenever I want to. lol
The following programs were updated just prior to the BSOD failures:
8/28/12 Adobe Reader X
8/29/12 Swift To-Do List
8/30/12 Adobe Flash Player 11
8/30/12 Compatibility Pack for Office 2007
8/30/12 MS Office PowerPoint viewer 2007
Have Verizon Security Scan powered by McAfee and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Here is what I've done on my own:
Originally had 4x2 GB original memory sticks. Ran Memtest86 for over 4 hours for 4 passes with no errors but I did not test them individually, only as configured. Then I replaced them all with 4x4 Corsair sticks from Fry's. Have not run the test on these new ones at all yet but I may do that one at a time to test the motherboard slots.Would rather not have to do it if something else is indicated more strongly.
I have also run a disk check on the system drive with no errors.
I am still using the original 475 Watt power supply but am considering replacing it with a Coolermaster 650 Watt PSU.
Have I left out any pertinent information?
