Does 7 use substantially more amounts of memory than XP? I've used the same spec on XP for several years with no problems...

Im assuming you are runnning 32bit. the minimum ram requirement is 1 gig. Im pretty sure xp minimum was less like 512mb. If you have 2X 1GIG its probably not the amount of ram. whetehr the ram is good is another question. you could run memtest on the mem to be sure

Absolute minuimum on 64 bit is 2 gigs so you are running very thin. that may be part of the problem.

Righto. I suppose if i'm upgrading my RAM I may as well upgrade my motherboard to support SLi (and faster RAM I suppose). Can you recommend me a motherboard where I can SLi up my 8800s and some RAM (would 4GB be enough)? I don't intend on changing CPU/HDDs etc
