System shut down, now bitlocker screen and windows won't start

I was using my Dell laptop today. All of a sudden the OS just shut everything down quickly and shut down. There was no error or anything like that. It just shut down.

Upon booting, I was given a screen to enter the bitlocker recovery key. I tracked it down and entered it into the laptop. The laptop then tried to boot, but blue screened. In typical MS fashion, the blue screen showed for about 1/352352th of a second so I couldn't get any real information about the error.

I tried the boot system recover option that the os presented. I tried the option to recover from the last recovery point or to recover the other way. Each time the system booted back to the same problem.

Does anyone have any idea of how I troubleshoot this? I'm lost. Thanks for your help.

I would suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps in order:

· Remove the external devices and check if any of them is causing the Blue screen.
· If you are able to boot then perform a clean boot of windows by disabling 3rd party services.
· Rollback any recently installed drivers / software.
· Check if you are able to boot into safe mode. If you are not able to boot into safe mode, try system restore from windows recovery options.
· If the issue still persists, then try running the Hardware Diagnostics. In order to run Dell Diagnostics, follow the mentioned steps: Restart your computer. When the DELL™ logo appears, tap <F12> immediately. In the boot device list, highlight Boot to Utility Partition and press <Enter>. Under Dell Diagnostics Main Menu (see Dell Diagnostics Main Menu), select the extended test. If you get any error code, make a note of the error code.

I tried the system recovery and all of those steps as I mentioned. It's not that simple. Startup recovery won't work. Using the windows disc it says it can't repair anything. I think bit locker is the problem. It creates a C: recovery partioned when you put in the bit locker information. Windows then tries to do a startup recovery on it instead of the real c: . That's what seems to be happening.
