BSOD while computer was idle / error 0x8000000000000002

Hi folks,

Just found this forum and it seems pretty active so I'll give it a shot here. I'm not sure how to diagnose this blue screen so hopefully someone can help. :)

To note, this has happened before, but only once, and it's been about 3 months since. When it happened last time, I was playing a game (Supreme commander forged alliance).

Looking in the event viewer, it seems this critical error has happened yesterday, and the day before (same event ID and error code). This is odd, as I don't recall any blue screens then. I did lose power yesterday, but that was across the board in my apartment.

I didn't see the blue screen myself this time, as this happened while I was sleeping. I fell asleep listening to a video on youtube. Nothing of note was open or running besides MSN messenger, and a few tabs open in google chrome. When the system rebooted, I got the "Windows has recovered from an error" pop up, stating there was a blue screen.

I uninstalled the programs specified, and enabled driver verifier. Restarted the computer, and just after it finished loading windows 7 (after the splash animation but before loading the desktop) I saw a blue screen. Then it restarted itself again. That time, it made it to the desktop, but everything was much slower.

I turned off driver verifier, ran the diagnostic tool again. Hopefully this will be helpful. I've never had a BSOD before even reaching the desktop before.

So the BSOD after loading windows didn't help?

Okay thank you. I will wait a bit before running it again though, as it causes a fair amount of lag.

Is it okay if I were to run it mostly when I am away? Would it still be accurate if the computer was mostly idling? Or should I also run a stress test program?
