BSOD while playing 3D games with BCCode 0x1000007E

While playing 3D games like Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Darksiders 2, etc., this BSOD with BCCode 0x1000007E always appears. Although there are also other BSOD BCCodes that shows after the other like 0x00000050 and 0x000000d1, the above-mentioned one is the most frequent.

Here is the results of SF Diagnostics Tool. Hope it helps. Thanks for the help.

Uninstall Avast. Use Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows.

Uninstall the following programs, too. Those are harmful, and may cause crash anytime.

    All are known trouble creators.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

► Last of all, Maya and AutoCAD, they need much more system resource to run. $ GBs of RAM is not enough for those programs.

    Let us know the results.

Thank you for your kind advices.

About the Nvidia Display Driver, I know that there is a mixed versions of May and September that are installed in my system, particularly the HD Audio Driver. I did it because the HD Audio driver of September release was causing problems in my 3D games - loss of sound during gameplay - and since I didn't have any of these problem in May version, I decided to custom install the September version while leaving the audio driver remain not updated. Anyway, I did a clean installation of September version now.

I also uninstalled Folder Lock, kLite Codec pAck, ASUS AI Suite & Disk Unlocker.

I will leave temporarily the Virtu, AVAST, Daemon Tools, and Advanced SystemCare because I used these programs in my other PC but nothing like this problem happened so I think it is not the culprit (just a thought). However, if my problem persists, I will not be hesitant to uninstall it right away, so don't worry. :) Also, these programs are important to me and I can't live without them! *an obvious joke*

As for the Maya and AUTOCAD, I used it in my work so I can't uninstall it. I will pray that these are not the ones causing the problem..

I will update you after three days of monitoring of my PC behavior.

Hello! I'm here to give updates about my PC after 1 week.

After doing all that you said, my PC remained suffering from 7E BSOD although frequency was reduced. To make things worse, I now have some kind of BSOD, with same error code 7E, but occured in different file named DXGMMS1.SYS. Average occurence of problem is once every 4 hours, while playing 3D games.

Also, I don't know if it's related, my headphone doesn't work on every start-up (just like it is initially disabled) but can get to work once I remove then plug it again.

It is greatly appreciated for any help that I will get.

    Thanks to all!

In such a situation, you are to a few things.

    • Update your display driver.
    • Clean inside the computer. Make it sure that there is no dust accumulation inside the computer, the graphics card, and the fans.
    • Stress test the graphics card: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
    • Check the heat... heat of the card and the system overall, specially just before the crash. Use Speccy.

    Let us know the results.

[BSOD] 0x0000007F while playing Elder Scroll V

    Hi to all!

I just got this error while playing Elder Scroll V: Skyrim. It is the first time I get this error, but doesn't mean it is the only BSOD I got within this day. I also got 0x00000050, 0x000000d1, and 0x1000001f (not so sure if this is correct but I do remember that it has a "1", not like others that has only zeros) plus a dxgmms1.sys & nvlddmkm.sys errors. These errors FREQUENTLY destroy my game every 5 minutes or less. I do tell it because it can have any relationship with each other.

Anyway, here is the SF Diagnostic results after the 0X0000007F error. I wish someday I will be free of all these errors..

Thank you to all who will help.

The latest version of nvidia display driver is problematic.
    Code:
    lmvm nvlddmkm
    start end module name
    fffff880`0f4f4000 fffff880`101e8000 nvlddmkm T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: nvlddmkm.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys
        Image name: nvlddmkm.sys
        Timestamp: Tue Oct 02 23:51:13 2012 (506B3099)
        CheckSum: 00CD4613

    Thank you for the reply.

I already done that part but no luck. I upgraded to 306.97 because 306.23 gives the multiple errors, including all that I stated above. Do you think my graphics card have problems? What can I do to test it beside the Furmark Stress Test? (I installed that program but always not responding).

EDIT: I always update my DirectX SDK whenever I play different games ( I installed the included DirectX per game, because if not, either the game just closes in the middle of playing or the game won't start at all.) Do you think it has relation?
