BSOD Win 7 Pro x86 error: ataport.sys

    BSOD Win 7 Pro x86 error: ataport.sys


    I am trying to find the issue here, I feel it is a driver, but I am not sure. Doing a wipe and install is possible, but is the last resort.

    Seems that there was a root kit, I removed it and Windows would boot into user account then give me BSOD a minute or so in. (Any user account)

    When booting in Safe Mode, no BSOD. Any help isolating the driver, service or other problem would be very appreciated.

    3GB RAM

I've been on here before with BSOD issues and thanks to the people that helped me out back then, I was able to fix that BSOD error with your help. Apologies for not bumping that thread and saying so. Ah, so now, I have recently been getting another BSOD... this time the error is "ATAPORT.SYS"....
