What antivirus are you using? Did you make a full scan recently? and when was the last time you reinstalled the OS on this laptop?

This may not be clear --> I'M USING A DESKTOP THAT IS NOT THE RIG IN MY SYSTEM SPECS. It's running Windows VISTA with no service packs (yes, I know that this is SEVENForums, but still :P) (I seem to have problems installing SP1)
I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials. I haven't done a full scan recently, though. The last time this OS was reinstalled was at least 2 years...
Okay. Thanks, maybe we din't make ourselves clear earlier. We've updated the drivers that were causing the problems. Seeing the Celsius of the computer hardware I think we can say the hardware is okay but 2 years is a long time. I'd suggest you to do a clean install on this computer and let us know if those BSoDs come back.
Good luck
Hm...
I think that I'll stay away from the Clean Install for now, because I have much sensitive data and it would be a hassle to move, especially that my original rig is down.
But I seem to be having trouble installing Service Pack 1. I installed the Update Readiness Tool, because before, it would install until Stage 3 out of 3, and then give me a message that it did not install and was reverting.
But now, the install won't even start. I can press "Install" in Windows Update, and it will complete INSTANTLY. Not even the Service Pack 1 window would show :P
Wait...
Never mind, I just tried again and the Service Pack window popped up...
What could be the problem that was causing SP1 to fail?
(And yes, I know that this is SEVENForums, but :P)
Hi Justin,
koolkat has asked me to take a look at this thread for you. Before we continue, I need a little more information so I can see what's going on with your computer :) Could you zip up the following folder and attach it to your next post please? You might have to copy it to your Desktop first.
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS
It will probably be too big to attach here, if it is, then upload it to SendSpace:

Then send me the link.
