Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:

    • Click on the Start
    • Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
    • When it opens, go to File, Save
    • Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
    • Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
    • Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder
    • Upload the .zip file here.

    Code:

Please uninstall all stuff related to AVG and Norton. They are known to cause BSoDs.
Use free MSE, it's light weight and is most compatible with windows 7. Make a full scan once installed and updated

Then run the System File Checker that scans the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible

    Hi,

Made a repair cd using another computer and ran sfc /scannow 3 times and found no violation. The BSOD has stopped, problem now is commands and some programs do not work. (could it be a problem with permissions?) Should I start a new thread in another category? Thanks
