BSOD when laptop waking from sleep or hibernation

    Hello Everyone:

I have seen the many posts about the BSOD. So I went to download the Windows Debugging Tools but each time it keeps complaining about missing files. This means I have no dumpcheck utility.

The problem occurs when I reopen my lid to wake up my laptop from sleep or hibernation. Sometimes it works fine and then other times it reboots and then after my login loads the message comes up about 'windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown'. I went to Device Manager and right click to upgrade the drivers but Windows said they were already up-to-date. I also ensured that in Windows Update, I checked the optional downloads too. However, the problem still occurred.

I am hoping that the forum members will be able to assist using the crash files that I have attached. My system specs are on my profile page. Thanks.

    Regards

    Welcome
    What antivirus are you using?

Here's a link for the driver update mentioned by Tobias:

    Hi:

Thanks for the driver list, Tobias. I will have a look at the link that koolkat77 provided. Daemon tools was so useful but having a properly working laptop is more important.

To answer your question koolkat77, it's Anvisoft: Anvi Smart Defender.

How do I search the Driver Reference table for the other 3 drivers? I entered the driver name but that doesn't really work. Is there a way to save the old drivers first in case I need to revert back to them?

Just copy the text before the date and paste it into the searchbox (make sure you don't get any spaces before or after the driver name):

Virtual Clone Drive is a more stable alternative to Daemon Tools.

There's inbuilt functionality in the W7 Device Manager to roll back drivers and there's also third party software to allow you to backup your drivers if you want to reinstall your machine (like DoubleDriver).

    Update the foll:
    Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet
    Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller

You can find the driver for "Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family" here.

Seems like the BSOD was caused by the Broadcom NIC driver again, even though it seems like you have the latest one installed now:

    Hi Tobias:

I already used that link for the Intel chipset. I tried the exe and also tried using the Device Manager->Update driver and the zip file. Windows always state that the driver is already updated. So the same driver still exists.

I am not sure why Broadcom NIC caused the crash because it was updated. I also restarted my laptop after each driver update.
