Random program crashes then multiple BSODs, new MSI laptop

    Hi

New member/first post so if I miss anything let me know and Ill do my best to add the info ASAP

    Got a new MSI GT780DXR laptop around a month ago, intel i7 CPU, NVIDIA GTX570M VGA/1.5 GB GDDR5, 8GB of RAM, Windows 7 x64

It worked fine for 2-3 weeks and then suddenly developed problems. It always starts by crashing Skype, if I reopen it crashes again after a few minutes normally. Once or twice Skype has instantly crashed on startup.

It then crashes a programme called Holdem Manager 2 (data gathering program for online poker sites that outputs to an on-screen HUD) and again if I try to restart it quickly crashes.

This is normally followed by a BSOD, I have had several different error messages with the BSOD.

If I leave the laptop running without opening skype or holdem manager on startup, I still eventually get the BSOD. Sometimes after a BSOD Skype crashes instantly upon restart as well as some other random things (THX audio etc).

If I run a quick scan with Malware Bytes Anti Malware it comes back fine, same for quick scan with Microsoft Security Essentials however if I do a full scan with either program the laptop BSODs everytime. I can however do a full scan with both programs in safe mode and it doesnt return any problems.

I have also run Intel processor diagnostic scanner and it reported no errors (and didnt induce a BSOD in normal startup mode).

I looked up most of the BSOD error numbers on faultwire and they all mentioned potential Graphics card problems, I suspect this might be the cause however I dont know how the test this to confirm. I re-downloaded and installed the up to date driver for my Graphics card and it didnts make an difference. I have also used system restore to restore back to when I didnt have this problem however I quickly got a BSOD so it didnt help

I downloaded and ran the SF diagnostic tool as per the BSOD posting instructions on here. I will post the zip file for this as fett411.
I then ran driver verifier as per the instructions on here and my laptop BSOD everytime immediately on startup, before it got to the login screen. I turned this back off in safemode, restarted the laptop and then ran SF diagnostic tool again. I will attach the zip file for this as fett411 v2

Thanks in advance for any help. I appreciate it.

Thanks, I will try this ASAP. I did run Driver Verifier already and when I restarted my laptop I got a BSOD before I could even get to the login screen, this happened everytime until I booted up in safe mode and turned it off.

I ran SF diagnostic a 2nd time and that is attached above in the zip file called fett411 v2

You need to update your network driver, too.
Download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
    Then reinstall the driver:
    • Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
    • Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
    • Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
    • Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
    • Restart the computer
    • If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

Hey, the BSODs "seem" to have stopped after doing this so thank you very much for the help.

I am still having the non-BSOD errors though, mainly Skype keeps crashing and giving a 0xc0000005 error

Faulting application name: Skype.exe, version: 6.0.0.120, time stamp: 0x50816e63
Faulting module name: jscript9.dll, version: 9.0.8112.16450, time stamp: 0x50372636
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00006e58
    Faulting process id: 0x1138
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cdb2c4fb66ef04
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\jscript9.dll
    Report Id: b9a772e6-1ec8-11e2-9a38-6c626d371770

I know this is now in the wrong forum so I will start a new thread in the correct forum and link between but any help would be appreciated. Im not sure if other programs are affected in the same way but Skye is the only one of the applications that I regularly use that crashes so often.

Another problem I have been having the whole time that I forgot to mention originally is that I seem to get random "Aw Snap" messages on pages on Chrome. I feel like the problems could/should be related including related to the BSODs as they all started on the same day.

    Thanks Again

Download and install the free version of Revo Uninstaller

The things you'll have to uninstall with this are:
    1. Adobe Flash Player (All 64bit & 32bit versions - if you have them)
    2. Mozilla Firefox
    3. Chrome
    4. Skype

You can't uninstall them at once, you'll have to do them one by one using the "Advanced mode" for uninstall. When or IF a program asks you to reboot after it's uninstalled, click NO because you'll have to delete the left over registries of those programs and then reboot.

Now you can get the latest versions of all the software listed above downloaded and installed from filehippo.com. Be sure not to download beta or dev versions.

Let us know if installing them afresh eliminates the issues you're having.

At the reinstalling stage now, got skype reinstalled but Chrome doesnt have a non-beta/dev download on filehippo and the download link for flash doesnt work. Is it ok to install both from google and adobe site direct?
