Re-imaged PC Blue Screen of Death

    Hi All,

I have a HP desktop that I have had for two years. My build was a dual boot of Windows 7 Ultimate and Linux Ubuntu. My boot loader was grub. However, my girlfriend got a new job working from home. She has to provide her own PC for work use. I decided to format my 1 TB HDD and go back to Windows 7 ultimate and not have a dual boot with linux.

I spent a better part of the day formatting and re-installing windows followed by all the software I had to load back on. I have received two reboots today that were BSOD. My pc was set to reboot after so long on a BSOD. I haven't caught either BSOD in action. I know I am receiving them because of the two DMP files in my minidump folder and a message stating that windows has recovered from a serious error. I have downloaded the program to grab all necessary info about my machine and the DMP files from the BSOD.

I am attaching the files that I have pulled from the program. If anyone could shed some light onto why I am getting theses BSOD's I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Welcome aboard.
You need to update your display driver.
    Code:
fffff880`021b9288 fffff880`0490d217*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmdag.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmdag.sys

    lmvm atikmdag
    start end module name

        Loaded symbol image file: atikmdag.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys
        Image name: atikmdag.sys

        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Update it from AMD Graphics Drivers & Software.

    Update network adapter driver.
    Code:
Name [00000007] Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\rt64win7.sys (7.17.304.2010, 338.03 KB (346,144 bytes), 10/22/2010 3:34 AM)
    Get it from Realtek.

There might be some other things to do ... but not at once.
You make those two changes, and let us know the situation.

    Thanks!!!

I got it fixed last night. I found a program that read the dump files and found the .sys file that was causing the problem. I went out to ATI's website and download the catalyst drivers and software. It didn't dawn upon me because everything in device manager appeared to be fine. When I updated the drivers I got another BSOD in the process... LOL. I finally got it updated and will fix. I will also look into my network drivers as well.

    Thanks!!!
