Brand New Build - Random BSOD 124

Need some help with this. Brand new build:

    Intel i5-3570K
    Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3 Z77
    G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MHz CL9
    2x120GB OCZ Vertex 3 RAID-0 (FW 2.25 on both)

Nothing overclocked but running Intel XMPP

Installed Win7 SP1 and ran all updates, then random BSOD 124. Could be me just installing software, playing a game or just browsing the internet.

Tried upping the Vtt and manually setting memory to XMPP specs, but didn't seem to do the trick. Not too convinced it's the SSDs because I ran both individually for months before and they were fine.

    Anything else I can try?

    Alright you have BUGCHECK_STR: 0x124_Genuine Intel =
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Run through the steps in the link
    As well
    intelppm.sys : Intel Processor driver
check with your mobos site for driver updates, and as well check here as a secondary option : Intel Download Center
Here are stresstests for reference :
    Stresstests:
    Ram : RAM - Test with Memtest86+
General hardware: Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 ( (Three pre-set configurations are available: Small FFTs and In-place FFTs, and Blend. Small and In-place modes primarily test the FPU and the caches of the CPU, whereas the Blend mode tests everything, including the memory.)
Graphics: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark (Do the above Graphics test only with the latest drivers, and then Run it until the temperatures stop increasing; should be less then 10 minutes. If you don't see any crazy glitches or distortion on the screen, The test most likely passed. Take note if the Temperature gets too high, or you see Visual artifact - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to stop the test.)

Crap... I forgot to mention I did some preliminary tests:

Memtest86: Overnight, both sticks in Channel A, 3 (or was it 4) passes

Prime95: I actually downclocked my memory back to 1333 and it ran for the whole day while I was at work on Blend.

BIOS already on latest F9 for my board, and already went beyond the listed drivers from Gigabyte (11.6 for Intel RST, 17.3 for LAN).

I might try running Prime95 on 1600 tomorrow while I'm at work. Right now I upped the Vcc as well. Thing about this 124 is that it is extremely infrequent, like once a day or two, at very random times, so it's not really consistent on what I'm doing when it happens.

So far I've raised Vcc and Vtt by .1V and manually configured the memory timings and seems to have done the trick. Been running for entire day yesterday and running Portal 2 with no BSODs.

One minor niggle though and probably not related... On startup the Windows startup sound (the sound before login screen) sounds corrupted. I've had these on other machines too but don't know where to look.

Sorry for late reply, school's keeping me busy. Anyhow sounds pretty good, the sound happens with some people. Its usually a hardware or driver type of thing. I belive i had this problem, when my sound card drivers were out to date.
You could simply just turn off the startup sound by doing this. As well maybe search for drivers.

    1. Click Start , type mmsys.cpl in the Start Search box, and then click mmsys.cpl in the Programs list.
2.If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
    3.Click the Sounds tab.
4.Click to clear the Play Windows Startup Sound check box, and then click OK.
    BTW i like your rig:)

OK one more... This time it's a 3B though.

But I think this is actually unrelated to the previous BSODs. I was trying to mount eSATA drives at the time on my ASM1061 card.

The recent dump is inconclusive, therefore if you would like you can run this to see if any BSOD'S occur.

BSODs haven't come back past week... clean run!

I'll mark this solved if this week is also clean. Thanks for the help!
