    Fujitsu
Downloads for AMILO Notebook Sa 3650
Manuals for AMILO Notebook Sa 3650

Fujitsu is difficult to navigate and reference

    RS780M (Onboard) TitleVersion/DateSize(MB)
Download AMD RS780M/M88 Graphic Driver 8.631.1.0

You have version 8.970.100.3000 according to the SI you provided. Fujitsu has the above driver (all windows 7 version)

I would first try to roll back the driver in Device Manager (type Device Manager in the start menu search box and then enter) find the graphics driver and double click to expose properties, the select the driver tab and click the rollback button (if available). If the driver version corresponds with the Fujitsu information, you're done. Otherwise, uninstall it (yes if prompted to remove software).

Restart your system, cancel found new hardware, and install the driver from the Fujitsu site. check Device Manager or prepare a new SI and post it.

    Thanks

There is an auto detect tool on the site called DeskUpdate. I have no knowledge of this utility, but you might find it useful - research it a little first.

I have tried various autodetect mechanisms on a few vendor sites. some work great, others not not good.

I also looked briefly at the Amilo Graphicbooster section on the downloads page. It seems as though this is documentation, but please double check. The download software button points to the same PDF file as the description button. I only looked at a few though.

So for now - go ahead and try what I posted in post 21 above. Let me know if further assitence is required.

    thanks

    Bill

    Hi everyone,

    so far so good!
I have ran FurMark 3 times and the pc has not crashed.
The first one I let it ran for 20 minutes, the second for 15 min and the last one for 5 minutes. It has not crashed/frozen at all!
What I also noticed is the following: Before I update the synaptics driver as Arc said, whenever i ran FurMark the mouse pointer was moving with difficulty, i mean very slowly.
Since the synaptic update when I am running furmark the pointer moves as if the laptop is idle.
So i think the touchpad driver might be a strong candidate..
Could it be that the technicians replaced my touchpad with a newer model since my laptop is 3+years old? And i had a new model with an old driver for another touchpad..

I also have new functionalities with the driver i downloaded, like two-finger scrolling etc.

Can the black screen and the frozen pc be because of that?

For your questions Bill, first of all thank you very much for all your help.

I have downloaded the Ati driver from the AMD site. I have the latest one 12.6 catalyst driver.
I have also downloaded the newest version of Deskupdate. It had not found any new driver.

So far everything looks pretty good.
I really dont know how to thank you all guys (Arc, Britton30, Bill, koolkat77)

jo: yeah, the autodetect is a toss up on PC mfgr sites - the only thing HP kept telling me was that their bloatware was not up to date, nothing about actual device drivers that I knew were out of date. C'est la vie!

The new touchpad features are from the driver update.

Could you post a new msnfo32 - in case anyone needs to follow up?

This was a great collaborative effort
    - Thanks Arc, Britton30, koolkat77, and jo

Well glad to hear there's some improvement Jo!
I will reiterate what Arc said and use only CCleaner for cleaning the registry, w7 does a good job on its own, but I use it. Any other tool will foul it up.
Also as Bill said, Windows Update isn't always reliable with drivers and normally a step or two behind.

    Please keep us informed.

    (Thanks Arc, Bill, KoolKat)

    Hi everyone,

today i had two crashes on Furmark. The screen freezes and I have to press the power button in order to reboot the system.

I am downloading now Futurmark 3DMark06.

I have attached the newest msinfo32. The weird thing in it, is that although i have updated the synaptics driver it still has the old version in the nfo.

I ran Futurmark 3DMark06 twice and it crashed both times after a few seconds.
The screen goes black (illuminated) and the pc freezes.

I am thinking of calling the technicians to take it back.
    I am still under warranty.
    What do you think?

    Thank you in advance

    I have an update.
I put the laptop on top of a base aircondition and it managed to complete the Futurmark with no problem.
I put it again at the office and it crashed again (black screen pc frozen)
So it's a matter of temperature I guess?
Could it be that the vga chipset overheats and behaves like this?

It should not get hot enough to crash the system. It's either a defective GPU or techs.
