    New operating system

Hey guys I was wondering that if I was going to do a fresh install other than formatting the HD is there anything else I need to clear that like stays to the motherboard.

Someone told me that the registry stays with the computer not the hard drive?

Hiyya CZ and welcome I think someone is having a lend of you mate unless they meant your edition of the OS is chained to the mobo - forever!

By that I mean that when you installed it the first time the motherboard is linked to that activation code which is why you cannot put it (the OS) on a different machine's board.

Having said that if the board gets fried or irreversibly damaged then most times a quick call to Microsoft and explain to them the situation as I did fairly recently they will let you put the edition on another board

The registry mate is just part of the OS :)
