BSOD while web browsing, error message: fltmgr.sys(?)

Hello,
I ran into three BSODs yesterday. I was not taxing my system very heavily when they occurred (I was doing things like browsing the web and editing word documents, as I described in the subject heading).

I have attached the results of the SF diagnostic tool. I changed my advanced system settings to create minidump files, but I cannot find any of those files.

The BSOD passed very quickly (my settings were set to restart immediately upon a crash), but if I remember correctly, "fltmgr.sys" was listed on the screen.

Fltmgr.sys is a Windows driver and an essential part of the operating system. I'd try restoring your computer to a date/time prior to the first BSOD using a system restore point.

System Restore

Then I'd run a system file checker scan to look for damaged or corrupt system files. Run it from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

For a better analysis of the problem it would really help to have the dump files.

I did do a system restore today, and I haven't gotten a BSOD since, but I'm still cautious.

I ran sfc /scannow from the elevated command prompt, and I got a message saying something like "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations."

I also ran full scans on Avast, Malware Bytes, and TDDSKiller, and none of those found issues. I definitely have my system configured to make dump files in the case of a future BSOD, so if something comes up, I'll hopefully have a dump file.

Sounds like system restore may have solved the problem. The SFC "no integrity violations" is also a good sign. Basically means it didn't find anything to repair. Run your computer for the next several days as you normally would and hopefully everything is fixed. Don't hesitate to post back of problems occur. I'll check in from time to time to see if all is OK.
