    @F5ing,
    Am sure (could be wrong) But that is the same as what Slartybart said?
    As far as chkdsk is concerned? No, not quite. My main point was simply that chkdsk really only checks the volume (eg, C: or D:, whatever "drive"/volume you specify) rather than the whole physical disk.

    Yes I to find it odd, I downloaded Seatools dos tool (Windows 7 32-64 bit) Then burned it with Windows burner..
    Yes I agree! I found my Samsung HD better then this.. I find this HD slower... BUT it boots faster oO

    chkdsk log:
    The Seatools thing is odd. But regardless, your Samsung SMART data looks much better than your Maxtor. And as you've experienced BSODs on both, well, I think I'd go with the Samsung.

    BTW, the chkdsk run on your Maxtor drive appears to have cleared up some index/security descriptor errors but found nothing wrong while doing its surface scan. It's worthwhile to run it one more time to ensure it no longer finds errors.

    Could you remind me, what AV is on the system?

    Please also run the following in an elevated command prompt
    Vssadmin list writers
    Vssadmin list providers
    and lastly (for the moment anyway)
    please post a screen shot of your virtual memory settings (computer properties -> advanced system settings -> advanced tab -> performance setting button -> virtual memory change button

    post the screen shot, but don't change the setting, cancel all the way out.

    F5ing: I agree that the CRC errors are disconcerting, and understand your explanation of the differences between Seatools and chkdsk. It's not clear to me at the moment that the issue is any drive as both had issues. I might have lost track, but I think the current drive has the fresh install on it and I'd rather deal with the CRC slow down on a fresh Windows than revisit a Windows that might not be "clean".
    Your thoughts?

    MrUser01: Am i correct, this drive has the fresh Windows install, whereas the other drive does not?

    I had to go back and check stuff such as reseating cables - done - and I probably missed some things along the way.

    Thanks,

    Bill

    @Slartybart,
    Here you are! *Sorry I had to zip it, As do I got invalid file name*

    @F5ing,
    Ah I see what you mean :) Would you still like me to run a chkdsk /r ?
    Yes I agree this HD seems to lack off speed, The Samsung was much better, But am in no rush to swap the HDs over at this time. I will do a re-scan in a bit for you :3

    Great, everything looks ok and thank you.

    Try setting your virtual memory to a custom size of 8192 and reboot
    This will force the paging file to be rewritten on disk and not try to resize it.

    Please post another Virtual Memory screenshot after you boot

    Thanks - you're doing great.

    Hmmm, looking at the SI you provided shows that the Software Protection service (sppsvc) is not running, it is configured to start automatically.

    Please download and run MGAdiag
    when it is finished, press the copy button (ignore any errors)
    post the output in a code box using the # icon on the posting menu

    Paste MGAdiag output in a code box
