    BSOD After Waking Up Computer

    Howdy

This afternoon I got my first BSOD after trying to wake my computer up from sleep mode. I came back to my PC and tapped the spacebar to wake it up, and was met with a BSOD.
    It gave me this message:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:

    BCP4: FFFFF80003181D50
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0

    C:\Windows\Minidump\111012-20342-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Max\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-52556-0.sysdata.xml

Note: This is the first BSOD I've experienced on this machine, and the first one I've troubleshooted (troubleshot?). Also note it has not occurred again in the first hour after it occurred. Any help would be much appreciated, and thank you very much!

    Welcome to SevenForums.

Please uninstall Avast! antivirus during troubleshooting. It's known to contribute in BSOD-s avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal. Use Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

Run these tools and delete anything they may find:

    ESET online scanner:

Error code F4 is usually a storage/hard driver related crash.

Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using crystal disk info:

Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

Hard drive test both short and long with:

Test the hard drive with the DOS version of seatools at last.

You may also go through these:
Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

    Let us know the results.

Many thanks. Let me run through those steps when I get the time. I've run the Rootdisk utility and uninstalled Avast! so far, and attached is a screenshot of the crystaldisk info.

    Looks good.

You may start with running the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows: WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD VelociRaptor
