I noticed that it crashed on a AVG file:

One of the usual causes for the previous two BSODs, was according to the BSOD Index, the virus scanner program being used, therefore I recommended uninstalling AVG using the offical AVG uninstaller (AVG Uninstaller) and then installing:

• Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download
• Download Windows® Defender from Official Microsoft Download Center

Both provide great protection, I would recommend using Microsoft Security Essentials, however it is not supported within Windows 8, but Windows Defender has been designed to provide the same protection as MSE.

Have you performed the additional hard-drive tests and scanned with the System File Checker?

Thanks. AVG Uninstaller running now. I'll use Windows Defender, and I've always used Malwarebytes - the two should be enough (hopefully!).

win32k.sys - Driver Reference Table

• SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

It may need to be run 3 times with reboots in between to start repairing files, if not then you may need to perform a Repair Install to fix any missing or corrupted Windows files.

I ran this once last night, and it said it fixed one problem. Is there something specific about 3 times?

Sometimes if it finds problems, it doesn't always fix all the issues straight away, so most people recommend running it 3 times to make sure all the files have been fixed.

Have you ran the tests from Seagate yet?

Did you check that your system was compatible with Windows 8?

Will SeaTools work with an SSD? As I have an OCZ Agility 3 with Win 8 on it.

When I upgraded to Win 8, the installer ran a compatibility test which was fine. Maybe I'll try manually updating all my drivers, worth a shot.

It worth checking and then manually updating your drivers, and it's good that Windows 8 is compatible with your hardware, driver compatiblity shouldn't be a problem here, as if the Windows 8 is compatible you would think that the drivers would have been released to be compatible with Windows 8 also.

Remember to run System File Checker again a few times, to make sure all the files have been repaired.

Any new BSODs?

Will run SFC a few more times when I get home from work. Doesn't CrystalDisk just show info, as opposed to run any tests?

No new BSOD's after the one last night, and I played quite a bit of Black Ops 2 last night and was using the PC for an hour this morning. But like I said, it does seem to be very random!

So, an extensive recap to-date:

DONE
+ Ran MemTest86+ with no faults.
+ Ran Disk Checks (Windows built in)
+ Enabled Driver Verifier
+ Uninstalled Daemon Tools Lite (the cause of 1 BSOD)
+ Ran SPTD Uninstaller (there was nothing to uninstall)
+ Ran SFC Scan Now via Command Prompt; repaired 1 error
+ Manually tried updating drivers through Device Manager
+ Uninstalled AVG (now using Windows Defender) (the cause of 1 BSOD)
+ Uninstalled all non-Microsoft Keyboard & Mouse drivers (the cause of 1 BSOD)
+ Windows Defender & Malwarebytes scan carried out with no errors
+ Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller scan carried out with no errors

TO DO
+ Run SFC ScanNow a few more times
+ Keep monitoring

Yes, it will give useful information about the health of your hard-drive and also the temperature for it (overheating can cause hardware issues), and thanks for the update!

It's good to know, that you haven't had any new BSODs so far :)

Ran SFC Scannow 6 times, no errors. Will keep monitoring.
