Could you please upload your recent dump files?

Yes, McAfee is a common cause of BSODs in Windows 7, what AV suite are you using in it's place?

    Perform a full scan with:

Remember to install the free version of Malwarebytes, not the free trail; untick the free trail box during the installation of Malwarebytes.

Have you tried reseating the hardware?

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Follow the above steps to test all your hardware components, Stop 0x124 means a hardware component is faulty or hasn't been properly configured.

I have had two more traps since my last update this morning (total of four on 11/17), i will go back to the instructions on how to create file to upload here.

I did not install any AV once McAfee was removed. Tech support suggested installing MS Essentials, i had not yet done that.
I already have a version of Malwarebytes installed. not sure if trial, i did get a notice that it expired but seems I can still use it.

I have not tried to reseat any hardware. I am concerned about warranty unless doing it when support tells me to.

    Re the Stop 0x124 steps.
    Step 1 re overclocking.
I did install something that was supposed to monitor the clocking but I don't know what how to tell if something is overclocked.
Step 2 cooling. I can do the fan thing, altho these traps occur when the computer has been off for a while and then rebooted so it is hard to imagine it is a heating problem.
    Steps 3,4,5 covered.
Step 6 stress test. I will have to research how to do that.
Step 7, install Windows. oh how i hope i do not have to do that. I may just buy a new (NOT Dell) computer even tho this one is still rather new)

Thank you. i will get to work.

I think i just attached the dump file. I trapped a few more times while creating the updated dump file and i am rebooted now in Safe Mode with Networking. If I don't see the file attached to this post i will try again.

    Code:
    BugCheck 9F, {3, fffffa800e9ec060, fffff80000b9c518, fffffa800e0498b0}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nusb3hub.sys

    Probably caused by : nusb3hub.sys
    Code:
    BugCheck 124, {4, fffffa800aaec038, 0, 0}

Most of the dump files pointed to the 0x124 BSOD, and therefore since the desktop is still under warranty from Dell, then I would request for a replacement; one of the hardware components is faulty or misconfigured in some way.

All the dumps are still attached in this thread, and you can try using a data recovery program such as:

You have the right to warranty if Dell has given to you when you brought the desktop, unless the warranty has expired.

oops, i did not realize you had replied to my request for info regarding the dump files. and i deleted it cause i found the unzipped version and i think that may be suitable.

    Thank you!

Re the warranty yes, i have a bit over 60 days left. I fear they will make me reinstall Windows, first and that is something i do not want to have to do. I want to keep this harddrive if at all possible.

If Dell does not call me today, i will be contacting them. This is just ridiculous. Today i got two stop x 122 (only one dump registered) and i really didnt know if i was going to get back up or not.

I appreciate your help and support.

Upload the recent crash dump, and if Dell ask to reinstall Windows, it won't make any difference since 0x124 is related to hardware and is not caused by software unless a driver produces a 'false positive' which I highly doubt, since you have had the same 0x124 BSOD around four times now with only one 0x9F crash.

Dell told me to run in SAFE mode for a day (starting today) and if i don't crash then it is not hardware and we would reinstall windows tomorrow.

As you may expect, I crashed same 0x124. came up normal, and crashed again. I am now up as 'normal' but right away i am getting a few error msgs that indicate certain modules will not work. One is evidently used by Windows Live Mail cause that won't work. I tried running the SF_Diag and got an error running that as well. I am thinking one of the restores that the system did automatically may have been before i installed SF_Diag.

So, if i stay up long enough i will reinstall SF_Diag and upload the dumps here. (big 'if')

Thank you. I wish Dell was as helpful as you are.

Your welcome :) and Dell probably wants you to run in Safe Mode, as it limits the Windows operating system to run with the minimum drivers needed to function; 0x124 doesn't provide much practical information such as which hardware component is faulty, and therefore it can be any hardware component; from the RAM modules to a failing hard-drive.

If your computer wasn't still under warranty then I would have asked to run some hardware tests, but since your computer is still under valid warranty from Dell, it would be much easier just to ask for a replacement.

here is the file. i kind of had to hack it tho cause i was not able to download and run SF_Diag. So i had to do a system restore back to the 11th. That wiped out all the dump files. but i had saved them so i moved them back into the minidump folder and ran SF_Diag tool. Hopefully, that did not mess things up.

The dump that was created when i was in SAFE mode is the one dated today timestamp 2:20 and named 111912-68094-01.dmp (i dont know how the files look to you so gave you everything i can see that may identify it.

btw, Dell says that one of their techs, the first one i was on chat/phone with did run hardware diags. maybe he did. either way Dell says hardware diags came back clean. I am wondering about what diags he ran cause last year when i was on with Dell (and they never resolved that problem) they ran diags and i saw what they were doing. I did not see the same stuff this time, but maybe he did it differently.
