3 dumps in about 2 weeks time, last two identical (hal.dll+12a3b ntoskrnl.exe+18cb13 pci.sys+9bcf). I don't do any gaming. This can happen after a startup or it can happen after computer has been on for hours. I can be writing an email or be away from the computer. One thing I have noticed about this computer since the day I bought it in 2011 is the fan(s) can get very loud, esp if downloading.
After the second of the 3 dumps (on 11/8) I downloaded and thought I installed latest Seagate Barracuda XT driver for my hard drive ST32000641AS. I say I thought I installed because the date of 6/21/2006 still shows for the driver date, which is the date it was before I did the install.
I am new at this so if I need to add more information please advise and thank you for any help. I have had similar problems in the past but was not set up for a dump so don't know if it was exactly the same. When I called Dell they told me to reinstall Windows. That is something I really do not want to do, if at all possible. That time I fumbled around downloading different things and probably did some system restores and suddenly the problem stopped. Since I really don't know what I did last time to 'fix' it I can't repeat it. And it was likely only temporary. This time I would like to get it fixed for real. I didn't call Dell this time cause I know their answer.
