    BSOD when starting Autodesk Applications

    Hello,

I need some help, i can't figure out why this is happening and I was hoping someone were would have some expierience who can help me.

Basically the problem I am having is every time i try to start an autodesk program I get a BSOD. I can't seem to figure out why, I've tested by RAM and HD and they both seem to be working fine. My only idea is it could be motherboard related, but I don't want to go around buying/returning a motherboard if it may not be a problem.

This started about 2 days ago, I was using windows normally when all of a sudden it automatically starts shutting down. after a restart my HD wouldn't boot up. So i switched the SATA plug that my HD goes into and windows started right back up. However after than I can't start any Autodesk software without a BSOD, I can't reproduce it with any other piece of software, only Autodesk stuff.

If anyone can help me i'd be very greatful.

I've included the SF files below (at least the ones that it would extract properly)

    Welcome aboard.

    ► Uninstall this program

    • Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Pro

    Code:
    fffff880`08b48318 fffff880`0108b290Unable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\sptd.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for sptd.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for sptd.sys
     sptd+0x54290
Daemon Tools uses STPD.sys whis is a most common BSOD causer for windows 7.

Scan the system for possible virus infection.

    Code:
    fffff880`08b48458 fffff880`00db1922 ataport!IdeExecuteScsiCrb+0x10a
    fffff880`08b48478 fffff880`00dba7cb ataport!RefPdoWithTag+0x33
    ► Run some disc maintenance.

    1. Reseat the sata and power.
    2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
    3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.

    Let us know the results.

    Hey Arc,

I ran the Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller that you linked and it found the following virus. Rootkit.Boot.Pihar.c I cleaned that and everything is working great.

It even survived a whole reformat and reinstall of Windows. I didn't even know a virus could even survive a reformat.

Thanks a ton man, I never would have found that without your help.
