BSOD on Asus computer - error 0x490
Hi All,
First off I should let you all know that I have no idea about anything to do with computers so will need very basic step by step instructions.
The other day I was on my Asus computer (one of those ones that the monitor sits on the floor away from the screen) and I was watching a very high quality movie. All of a sudden I pause the movie to do something else and the screen flashes black for a moment then lags and the BSOD pops up.
It tried to reboot and went through the repair check up but said it was unable to automatically repair, or something like that.
I am able to get into Safe Mode but they system restore doesn't work.
I managed to buy an external HD so I could get all of my info off the computer but now am at a loss on what to do.
The error message came up with:
Bug Check 116
Error 0x490
0xfffffa8011f454e0
0xfffff8800f4560dc
Any help would be great thanks :)
Also on the side it says I use Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit... I made that up because it wouldn't let me into the site without having some info in that box and I honestly have NO clue what system I use, all I know is that it's Windows 7.
