    Downloading via steam, bad_pool_header BSOD (sf.zip included)


    Keep getting a BSOD while downloading large updates for Skyrim via steam.

    error is BAD_POOL_HEADER I didn't write the (0x0000000001) etc but I included all the files from the seven forums tool in a zip file.


    Thanks for any assistance.

    Update the following drivers:
    1. ndisrd.sys : Timestamp: Thu May 31 09:03:33 2012 (4FC6DF85) Driver Reference Table : Mionet driver/WinpkFilter high performance packet filtering framework
    2. MRVW24C.sys Timestamp: Mon Oct 29 09:22:31 2007 (472551F7): Driver Reference Table : Linksys, NetGear, DLink or Marvell Wireless USB Network Adapter
    Click on the Start ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; both the programs above, restart the computer if you have to. Then delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper, reboot the computer again and download the latest versions from the driver reference links.

    Norton Antivirus can be a frequent cause of BSOD-s. Uninstall it and use Microsoft Security Essentials (TO TEST).

    Run this tool and delete anything it finds:

    Make full scans with MSE and MBAM:

    Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

    • Click on the
    • Type CMD on Search
    • Left click and Run as Administrator
    • Type SFC /scannow
