Laptop freezes, crashes, BSOD and reboots at random

    Hello,

This is my first post here in this forum. I have read the rules but I am not currently at my computer and will post my zip file when I am back. I have an ACER Aspire 8942G. My problem started around two weeks ago. I had to make a Skype call but my mozilla and skype started acting up (not responding) and then my computer crashed with a BSOD. It worked afterwards but later the day it crashed two or three times again. I got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and BAD_POOL_HEADER and some others that I don`t remember. Then two days later it started crashing at a regular interval (usually it happens around 15 - 16 in the afternoon, but there are some exceptions). It usually crashes two or three times and then it works (at least for now) afterwards it works properly. Then last week I noticed that it started rebooting itself without even a BSOD, before the crash it works properly and after the crash the computer slow down (it even takes almost a minute to shut down). From what I read it could be either bad RAM, bad motherboard or bad PSU. I will post my results a bit later today. Sorry.

    Code:

The display is very recent, but not the latest. Try using the latest one.

    Let us know the results.

The ATI driver? I am not sure I understand the sentence properly. Could you elaborate a bit more what to do? :)

Yes, the ATI driver. Get the latest version from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
    Download and install it.

It gives me only the Driver Verification Tool that I have already installed (the version given) and I downloaded driver autodetect from AMD and it says that my driver is up to date.

I did what you recommended last night and installed the driver again. But today had another crash. I got distorted graphics this time and my computer froze so I had to force reboot it. Installed the driver third time I hope this time I have better results. I am uploading the sf scan of today.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.
