BSOD issues recurring for months - C5, D1, 8E
Hi,
I've been having BSOD's for several months now and have have been trying to fix them all. Thus far I have identified and fixed a few of them (some driver issues and crashes from Avast!), but have been unable to fix one that continues to occur. Here are some of the things I have tried:
- Anti-virus scans & rootkit scans from several different programs. I don't think it is a virus.
- Memory tests w/ memtest86 and windows memory diagnostic tool - all clean.
- Updated Intel & Lenovo drivers; Windows 7 up to date.
- HD tests with SeaGate tools - clean; chkdisk and related HD tools - clean.
The following information may be relevant:
- I updated a Intel wireless driver on 11/20/2012 which may have caused the corresponding BSOD.
- BSOD's often occur while browsing the internet (note that I do spend a majority of my time on the internet, so this may not be a cause). I've had one when using ms word, and the most recent one occured while I was not interacting with my machine.
- The aswSP.SYS BSOD's should have been fixed with Avast's most recent patch
- Several months ago I reclaimed 30GB from my HD that used to be part of a Ubuntu partition. I used the windows partition tool to do so.
- Sometimes Windows reports incorrect size usage for the HD. For example, I deleted my temp files which Windows said was 12Gb, but windows indicated that I only gained 2Gb of space from this. Apparently this phenomena is due to some windows backup features.
- My Intel Matrix Storage Driver is up to date (8.9.2.1002, a release maintained by Lenovo)
My machine is ~3.5 yrs old. Some of the stack traces suggest HD issues, but as I mentioned above all of the HD checker tools came up clean. My HD is backed up.
My attachment contains several dumps, but as I mentioned before some of them have been addressed. The four most recent ones that occurred in November are the ones that are most pertinent to the problem.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
