I believe he should be running Nvidia driver 306.97 WHQL and his board should have BIOS version 1102 10/22/2010. He also has a X64 OS with 4GB ram with 1.7Gb available.

I ran the entire system update, not sure how to do only the display drivers. (had to do it twice because the first time it came up with an error and it reverted the changes on reboot.

Still crashed several times while playing Sniper Elite V2.

I then attempted to update the BIOS. Encountered multiple problems with this, not sure if related but will describe them nonetheless. Half the time EZ Flash (the program in the BIOS used to update it) would just freeze randomly and I would have to reboot. One time it just went crazy, checking and then answering no to "do you want to update with this version" all the ROM files on the USB and then when it reached the bottom of the list (i had a USB with every version of BIOS on it because the first time I tried it said internal error, could not update BIOS) it just constantly checked and declined that ROM until I was forced to restart (button on case). Eventually I managed to update to the latest version only to find that there was a boot sector problem and had to use the windows boot disk to repair it.

After I had fixed all that there hasn't been a problem during the 2 hours of playing league of legends and the hour of so while playing Starcraft 2. Will mark as solved if no crash tomorrow while I stream my Starcraft 2 games for a few hours.

Thank you for all your help it is very much appreciated.

Some suggestions I have got for you ...

You could suggest he install and run GPU-Z Archie:

Arc, with GPUz, have him click on the sensors tab, and at the bottom check log. It will give him a dialogue box to select a place for the log file. (I create a new folder on the desktop). Then play his game. When the BSOD happens, the log file will contain almost every detail about what the video card is doing and was doing at the time of the crash.
I will suggest you one more thing. Use this Memory Desktop Gadget. During gaming, Alt+Tab, and see the level of usage. If with the time passage in gaming, the extent of memory usage increases, and gradually it tends to 100%, let us know.

Ok so I think that BIOS update has fixed my problems for the most part since I have played a few hours since then and hasn't crashed except for when I'm streaming. Not sure if this is a related problem or not but within 10 minutes of starting a starcraft game while streaming (using Open Broadcaster Software) the computer will crash. First time it went straight to BSOD, the second time everything just froze with a loud buzzing, kind of like it was repeating the last bit of sound, I had to use the restart button on case for it to do anything.

That memory gadget you linked to does not update the CPU stays at 0 and the memory stays at whatever it is when you launched it. I closed and opened it a few times while playing (and streaming) and it was around 30% ~1 minute before BSOD.

I have attached the GPUz log which shows me playing League for a bit and then opening up the streaming software and starcraft 2, log ends at the BSOD.
I have also attached the latest grab all which should have that BSOD information, not sure if it will have the information from the 2nd crash.

Thank you both immensely for helping to fix the first problem and I hope we will manage to fix this streaming problem as well.

EDIT: BSOD occured while playing sniper elite v2 for approx 20 minutes. (was also listening to music from grooveshark, if that's important to know)
Crashed in 2nd game of starcraft about 30 minutes betwen the two games before the crash, again was listening to music. Once the BSOD had rebooted the computer I reopened starcraft to apoligize to my opponent and then i get another BSOD, wasn't even in a game, just the menu screen.
BSOD again 5-10 minutes into sniper elite
crash in 2nd game of league about an hour into playing it

I don't see anything in the GPUz log. What video monitoring software are you using? If you install the Logitech software for your keyboard, it has a CPU and memory monitor. It will show cpu and memory usage, and core temp will show core temps in the led display. Also, I'm not familiar with the streaming software. Can you play the game without it? It does not look to me like it is video related. At the time of the crash, the card was 52C fan speed was 98%, voltage was OK, memory usage was 250MB, GPU load was 39%.

The only issue I can see is you are running an X64 OS with 4GB of ram. Is it possible you are running out of ram?

oops sorry I mistyped my keyboard I have the G105 not G15.
What do you mean video monitoring software? you mean like EVGA Precision X? Im using that to control fan speed and it shows the GPU temp and clock.

As to the playing without streaming I can play full games sometimes but othertimes it still crashes. With streaming it crashes within 10 minutes of opening the game.

I'll try to see what the memory is at next time it crashes. Is the Windows Resource Monitor accurate enough to use?

so I streamed the game with the resource manager on top (you can see here: aequitas737 - [Stream Testing] GM Protoss playing Starcraft 2) and about 5 seconds before crash the pc was using 69% of physical memory. I was only about 2 minutes into the game before BSOD

sometimes the hard faults / sec would peak really higher (it went off the graph so greater than 100)

About 61% mem usage without streaming when it crashed about 5 minutes into the game

In post #5 you found a virus HackTool.Wpakill. That is a hack tool that is commonly used to circumvent windows activation, or other uses also. Where did you get your copy of Windows 7 and do you have SP1 installed? Please read and follow the following tutorial and post the report here when finished. Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

I bought it at a computer market and no I don't believe I have SP1.
I don't think the operating system has anything to do with the BSOD's though because I had the same problem on XP I bought windows 7 partly because I hoped that it would solve the BSOD's

I did not buy a prebuilt computer, just all the components and I kept my old case which is probably around 10 years old now so there's no stickers on that and I'm not sure what you mean about the battery. Do you mean on the motherboard? there doesn't appear to be any stickers near that battery.

No, the battery was referring to a laptop. If it was self built, the sticker should be in the box Windows 7 installation disk came in.
