Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions
When posting a new crash dump, include all System File Collection and health reports. They contain valuable information that we can use to find the cause of the crashes.
Critical when looking for hardware problems.

This can be caused by CPU overheating, bent socket/CPU pins, loose CPU latch.
What CPU cooler do you have?
Is it loose, or too tight? Either of these can cause issues.
How did you apply the thermal paste?
Did you follow the Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try suggestions posted previously?
These are common steps to find the cause.

This is indicating the CPU is overheating.
Use Real Temp , to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages are.


You previously mentioned running memtest, how many passes?
Was it Windows memtest or memtest86+?
Recommended to run memtest86+ again if not done yet.
Run memtest86+ for 7 full passes, with all RAM cards installed.
Best to run overnight as depending on the amount of RAM you have may take several hours.
If you get any errors you can stop the test.

Seeing a lot of Steam crashes and registry errors, these may be due to the CPU issue.

Thanks Dave for your help, Here is some additional details. Starting with the overheating, the cpu runs at 32 degrees Celsius idle, and reaches up to 40 degrees during game play. The cpu cooler I am using is thermal take made for the socket, I did not over tighten the socket or under tighten it. When I applied the thermal paste I only used a pea sized dot and spread it evenly with a card. I followed the 0x124 instructions, I ran a stress test on the ram using memtest 86 at least 3 times with over 6 passes with no problems, The hard drive I am using has no issues. I also used asus's stress test diagnostics to test the cpu and prime95 to find that the cpu had passed all the benchmarks. I have the latest bios update, video drivers, sound drivers, cpu etc. I just looked into the bios and found these values for the voltages as follows: CPU Vcore: 1.112v, CPU VCCSA: 0.864v, Dram : 1.5v, Cpu PLL voltage 1.8v. I have also attached the additional files including a folder with the screenshots of the cpu-z tabs.

First, run this CPU test.
OCCT stability checking tool
Run the CPU:OCCT test for at least 30 minutes, be sure to monitor your CPU and GPU temps.
Set the time before you start.
When its done, pass or fail, it will make some graphs. Post these here as they are useful for analyses.

Second, remove your CPU cooler and CPU, check for bent pins. Use a magnifying glass to inspect every row.
This is the major cause of this stop code.

Check the motherboard for grounding points, visual inspection. Make sure your motherboard stand offs are in the correct place.

After these steps you can try adjusting some of the BIOS settings, when you post the results from the above tests, I will give some adjustment suggestions.
There is a possibility that the CPU integrated memory controller may be causing this error, small chance but worth checking.


Since monitoring programs don't number the RAM slots the same as the motherboard manual, your RAM should be in slots, counting from the left to right, 1,3 6 and 8.

Finding the hardware cause is the difficult part, this must be done before suggesting anything to RMA.
Motherboard manufacturers usually don't accept boards with bent pins for RMA.

When was the last time you clean installed W7?
Your System Event Log starts at 2009-07-13, which is before your motherboard and CPU were released.

For testing purposes, un-install all Asus utilities, these (all motherboard utilities) are known to cause havoc.
You can re-install them, if you want to, after the cause is found.

Disconnect any external device that is not absolutely necessary, USB hubs, speakers, leave only keyboard and mouse.
Seeing a lot of PnP errors, this usually points to USB devices.
Also disconnect the CD/DVD device, for testing, seeing a lot of errors from it.
