BSOD, when using Utorrent mainly, netios.sys

    hey guys,

A few weeks ago, I decided to check out RSS feeds on my Utorrent. Since that day, if Utorrent is running, it tends to BSOD. The timing varies, sometimes its open for 8 hours and no problems, sometimes its just 1.

From what I can see it seems to be something to do with NETIOS.sys.

So far I have re-installed Utorrent, updated it and removed all rss feeds.

I did a windows re-install a few months ago and updated all drivers at that point from the dell/manufacturers website.

From what I can see, my computer performance as a whole has dropped since this has started. Certain games lag or jump intermittently, and VLC videos seem to jump as well.

I have attached the logs requested in the tutorial.

Hope you guys can help, thanks.

    Welcome aboard.

    Suspected virus infection.
    Code:
    fffff880`03b62298 fffff880`06e158bcUnable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\a5aajcjd.SYS, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for a5aajcjd.SYS
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for a5aajcjd.SYS
     a5aajcjd+0x68bc
Scan the system for possible virus infection. It is a must for you.

    Daemon Tools and SPTD.
    Code:
    fffff880`03b62168 fffff880`010d891aUnable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\sptd.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for sptd.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for sptd.sys
     sptd+0x4e91a
Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Adapter driver
    Code:
    fffff880`03b61338 fffff880`0a4e610cUnable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\Netwsw00.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for Netwsw00.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for Netwsw00.sys
     Netwsw00+0x2a10c
Update the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Adapter driver from Intel® Customer Support.

BTW, which antivirus do you have installed? Uninstall the existing antivirus. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

    Let us know the results.

Thanks for the info Arc, I will go through those steps and get back to you today.

I currently use Webroot Secure Anywhere as it seemed to have alot of good reviews, was affordable and was very light weight. It did pick up 2 virus files, which were some tools to help understand what the BSOD error was from another site. They have since been removed. Could they have been causing that error you mentioned above?

ahh I was just saying that the virus could be a false positive, I downloaded a software similar to your SF_Diagnostic_tool, from another site, I didn't like the notification from my virus software so I didn't run it.

Just trying to install the new intel drivers now, will let you know when all the steps are completed.

If you run the virus scans, it will not harm anything at all.
