    BSOD while playing Witcher 2

    Hi guys,

Recently I have bought Witcher 2 and wanted to play with high details. It turned out that my old PC was not good enough, so I decided to change video card and buy some more RAM. I bought additional 4GB RAM so that now i had 8. I learned that my Windows 7 32 bit has a RAM limit of 4GB so I installed a new version of Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

Now, everything works fine apart from the times when I am playing the game. From time to time there seems to be a problem with a video card. My screen blurs for a sec and then its back with game details gradually decreased and slowly coming back to the original high settings. This wouldn't be a problem, but most of the time, after the initial blur I simply get a warning on my screen "no signal detected" and my computer restarts (actually it has problems restarting and boots only after a while). I know that this is not an ordinary BSOD thread as I do not get the BSOD screen, but it reminds me the most of it.

Attached is what I get using SF Diagnostic Tool.

    Can anybody help?

EDIT: This is what I get using WhoCrashed

    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\112812-19640-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x14BA88)

A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 306.97 , NVIDIA Corporation).
    Google query: NVIDIA Corporation VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

Obviously I cannot update the driver because it is the latest one...

Please reinstall your nvidia driver.. Did you try compatibility mode for installation of the driver?

I re-installed the drivers and was nearly happy that the problem was gone. After 1h30 of playing (which never happened before), however, the game froze. It would continue after a while but the graphic effects were considerably lower and eventualy render the game unplayable. I think that the problem that I am facing is exactly as described here
    STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting
I just got this notification in Windows for the first time.

I was wondering if PSU might be the problem. All i did was basically upgrading the hardware. There is a clean instalation of Windows so I don't blame it on a conflict between the drivers. Furthermore, I got some new RAM as well, but I tested it last night and every check I made ended up without reporting any problems.

Do you think that it is feasible that PSU might be the problem? What stops me from thinking that it is, is the fact that the game crashes in moments which I would definitely not called as visually involving.

So I have checked what kind of PSU I have and it turns out it is "Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 450W":
be quiet! Silent PSU & Cooling for your PC
For me, it seems as a very week PSU.

    I have:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2833 MHz (it has 4 cores)
    4 sticks DDR2 RAM, 2GB each
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 660 Ti
    DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive
    Blue-Ray/DVD/CD Drive
    SAMSUNG HD103UJ ATA Device

I am not mentioning devices that I plug in via USB.

About my graphic card I read that it requires 450 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 24 amps on the +12 volt rail. It seems that I don't even have that (24 amps on the +12 volt rail).

I am correct here? Please help :/

    EDIT:
Attached is the photo of the technical properties as shown on my PSU. It is almost 4 years old.

It's funny, because it seems that the graphic card that i had for the past 4 years - GeFroce GTX 280, requires at least 550W:
    http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...specifications
When I asked, in the store where I bought the new 660 Ti, if I have sufficient power to work with the new graphic card, the guy in the store told me: if you could run GTX 280, you will also be able to run GT 660 Ti. Thus, this issue didn't raise my concerns, but it seems that from the beginning I had insufficient power and I did experience some minor graphic problems when playing games on my old card.
