    BSOD BCCODE 116 completly random

Hello so i got this random bsod, it can crash 10 times in a day or it can work like a charm for a month or two. Most of the time it happens when i play games but on rare occasion when im just idling in windows.

At first i thougt it was the graphic card that was the one to blame (gtx 570) so i sent it for troubleshooting but they couldnt find anything wrong with it. When the computer shutdowns the screen goes in to sleep mode and a couple of seconds after the sound disappear as well and i have to reboot it. Most of the times my graphic card fan goes in to max speed. I've checked the temp on cpu/gpu/mobo and its fine.

    Here's a screenshot on the error(s) https://i.imgur.com/6Drtn.jpg
    Here's the dump Attachment 244693

Please help me sevenforums you're my only hope.

PS. Dont hesitate to ask if there is more information you need and i apologize if my english isn't the best : )

This is a TDR116 error which is typically caused by your display driver or a defect in your RAM/GPU. The DirectX software system and Nvidia drivers were involved.

Firstly stop any overclocking if any, reinstall your Nvidia software package but make sure only the Display Driver and PhysX are selected, make a clean driver install.

ASACPI.sys, Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility - The 2005 version is a huge cause of BSODs.

Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download
Enter your board model and scroll down to the Utilities category, then locate the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit "
Download and install it, you may have to use device manager to install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Run a Video Memory Test with OCCT
NVIDIA/AMD Video Card - Test with OCCT

    Test your RAM:
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.
Note that this test may overheat the CPU, ensure proper cooling.

    Post back with your results.
