    BSOD playing error 0x00000116

Here is the information needed with 1 dmp file. I was playing the game Natural Selection 2 when this happend.

The system is a fresh install with Windows 7 64bit Professional. Temperatures are pretty good everything is around 60degree while gaming and nothing is overclocked. Memtest did not found any problem with my memory sticks ran them over 20 passes / each stick. Tested OCCT for 5 hours straight and no crashes. Ive tried with a different graphic card which I know works but I still get bluescreens while playing games. Help please!

Ive done all steps at STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting still no luck. Ive tried different nvidia drivers but all of them gives me the same error.

I was going to test driver verififer but all drivers there was from microsoft so it cant be driver related.

    Code:
Usual causes: Video driver, overheating, bad video card, BIOS, Power to card
Driver Sweeper will scan for any left over files from the old driver, old driver files can cause conflicts with new driver installations. Create a System Restore point beforehand, in case any problems or issues arise.

    Follow these steps:

    Overclocking -
I recommend if you are overclocking any hardware, that you reset these values within the BIOS to their default values in order to increase the stability of your system.

Please run the following tests for your graphics card and RAM:

Run Memtest86+ for least 7-8 passes, and preferrly overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

    Graphics Card:

Read all the steps within the hardware test tutorials very carefully, as stress tests is designed run components to their maximum capacity, in order to point out failing or faulty hardware components.

Use the following program to monitor your hardware temperatures during the stress test:

    Hard Drive:

Scan for corrupted or missing Windows files with:

Check for any driver compatibility issues with:

If you are using DirectX, then try uninstalling and then reinstalling the DirectX Runtime:

Please post back your results :)

This is the latest drivers and they are fresh installed directly after I reinstalled windows 7. Nothing is overheating and nothing is overclocked. Ive run furmark for 5 hours without a crash but in games it can happen within 5-10min.

Memtest ive already run it before I format my computer 20 passes on each DDR stick but no errors.

Beta drivers are known to problematic in some cases, using the same process in my first post (Post #2), install the latest drivers which are WHQL certified; these drivers may have been tested by a third-party and then sent to Microsoft.

    Driver Download Page:

Try testing with OCCT, test the graphics memory (if possible) and the Power Supply:

Post back the results please :)

I've had this problem for quite a while now and I have tested more than 10 different drivers but all give me the same problem. I ran OCCT for 6 hours without a crash and temps where 70degree on GPU and 55 on CPU. I saw something weird though while runing memtest again. The First stick was running at 6-6-6-20 647MHz 1295MHz and second one was running at 9-9-9-24 647MHz 1295MHz, They are supposed to be running at 8-8-8-24 1600MHz @ 1.5V so I changede their links to the correct one but No errors were found I ran them 20 passes on each stick. I believe both are running at 8-8-8-24 2T now but is that correct?

I've tested a AMD card in my system (removed nvidia drivers before ofcourse) but I got same error with the AMD card which I Know works as my its my friends. I dont think its the GPU that is faulty and nor I believe its a driver related problem as these errors happens when I did a fresh install of Windows 7.

Have you tested the PSU? Upload the results of OCCT tests :)
