White screen error after start up or reboot, help needed.

Just recently I have a white screen error every time I either start up or reboot the PC.
The only way to get rid of the white screen is turning the monitor power off and then back on again but sometimes this doesn't work either.

Can anyone advise me of a way to fix it? thanks

My PC is a Compaq Presario SG3-230UK Windows 7 64 bit.

A white monitor screen is a monitor issue. Sometimes it's caused by a blown cap inside the monitor's circuitry, which if you're willing and able to solder on another one you can do so, but for the most part you're either gonna have to bring it to a service center or just replace it. Sorry, bub.

I'm not sure what you're referring too, but it may be an automated script in that it's expecting the OP to post their config and other desired details as instructed by the forum, and if it's missing then it'll prompt you. Again, don't know, but I'd figure that may be the case.

If you're confident this is the case, and are willing to determine it as solved, please mark this thread as such so that people in the future can use it as a reference. Though honestly, I'd wait until the monitor is replaced, but I'm not sure when that will be. It's up to your discretion.
