    Blue screen of death regularly

    Hi,

Very recently I have been faced with the "blue screen of death" all of a sudden about 5 times over the past few days. As it so happens, 2 of which have been in the last 10 minutes. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

    Thanks

    Matt

    Matt,

We all need more information! Anything that is on the screen when it crashes is a help to diagnosing the problem.

The system will create a minidump file that contains the information for each occurrence. If you go to Blue screen of death (STOP error) information in dump files. you can get a small program that will allow you to read the information in the .dmp files. Your system may or may not create these files, but there is information on that page to tell you how to configure your machine so you get the .dmp files each time it crashes. Once you have the information you can come back armed with what is causing the trouble.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Sorry for an extremely late reply. I tried several times posting a reply but got the BSOD whilst doing so, so gave up. Now I have started having problems again. I have attached the file with what you asked me to do.

    Thanks for your help

Post your files following steps here: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Also, do you have McAfee installed?

Yes I've seen that particular bugcheck e1 "worker thread returned at bad irql" being related to McAfee.

Please upload the logs as requested.

    And then do the following:

       Information
DO NOT start the free trial of MalwareBytes. Unselect the option when prompted.
