Well it would only run when I updated the driver for the onboard GPU but it was incredibly slow and laggy I couldn't even get a screenshot

OK I took a screenprint while it was running with onboard GPU

    hmmm interesting....

Ok your MB has Sideport Memory.. which is basically an additional 128MB thats soldered to the MB used by your internal Graphics ... rather than using the CPU's cache for graphics data ... the internal GPU uses this.

Go to BIOS and under Chipset you will find the Internal Graphics mode.... Select UMA only and not UMA + Sideport.. Once this is done go ahead and reboot the system and see how the system goes.??

    Report back..

So far no crashes but its a little slow! You don't think it's the graphics card do you? Cost me £350 and its too late to RMA it! I don't have another adequate psu to try it in any of my others either

Edit: Do you think it could be a power issue? This is the PSU I am using http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135197

That's what we are trying to see.. Just run it at this setup for an hour or so ... Then report back .. We have to do one more test ...

Regarding the power supply I don't know... Its always preferable to go with a branded one.. But that's for another day

It could well be a PSU issue. The Hi Power is made by a low end company, Cirtek and has four 12V rails providing only 20W each. The HD 5860 has a rating, TDP, Thermal Design Power, of 50W. It might explain the lines on the monitor.

Now this time.. We are going to test with your Radeon HD only...... Shut down and install the Radeon back in

Go back to your bios under Internal Graphics mode select Disabled and under Primary Video Controller choose PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX... This will make sure that only your Radeon will be working and not the internal one.

And go ahead and use your system as usual and let me know what happens..
