    Hi dakka

it looks like changing the PSU... Could have resolved the issue the graphic card not getting enough power... However I do understand that you have done the test as well as had a BSOD after changing the PSU.... Could be a one of case... So will wait for your feedback

Hopefully that is the case centaur78 and I will leave it running for the day and report back as it never goes very long without some kind of crash but so far so good, apart from after the initial installation last night! I will post back shortly! Fingers crossed

I have restarted the PC a few times now and it has been running since this morning and so far no crashes or any problems at all in fact. I know it is too early to tell if it is fixed but I have +Rep'd all you guys anyway because it has run all day for the first time and that in itself is enough to give you guys some credit! I just hope it stays how it is running now!

I hope the good fortune continues for you, Dakka. Thanks for the rep, it is appreciated. I guess I'm just one of those who likes to know exactly what was wrong and that it is fixed. You had crashes after the PSU change, so that leads me to believe the PSU was not the problem. But a newer and better PSU is always a plus. But, in the end, it really does not matter if I know what the problem was. All that is really important is that the computer is running right and not crashing. You should be commended for sticking with it and running all of the tests and other things that have been suggested in these 11 pages of posts. Most people will not stick with it that long. I know what a real pain it is. I've been there, done that. I have the T-shirt. So, congraulations and well done.

Thank you very much essenbe and I hope it does too, although, it has only been a day, it may not be over just yet and I do indeed tend to see it through as I am doing computing at Uni and can not let something like this go! It is software development and games development I am doing but computing in general is a passion and I can't rest until I know the problem and then know how to rectify said problem in the future! As of now though, this thread is still alive and kicking until we know the source of the problem! I just wanted to give you credit for your time and help so far as it is well deserved! Tomorrow is another day though so we will see if the problem persists, but for today, thank you, all of you!
