Hmm that is a golden oldy like my old Dell looks like the card will not fit either size or slot wise.

Don't suppose you have a friend with a machine that can handle it or perhaps another card to try the slot?

Now stating the obvious can you see any scorching of the printed circuit board (PCB) or caps that look dodgy or even what is known as "dry joints" they are the soldered joints for the components into the PCB that are "loose" in the board and will make intermittent contact or none at all.? Same goes for the mobo too.

By the way did the power lead test up ok with the volts? not that means very much because it can have the volts but not the current available.
Another thing you could test is the GPU temps try this CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting - saved it to downloads and open it from there - takes a few seconds to install and my GPU cores are running at 35C. (I keep Downloads as an icon on my desktop for easy access - Start type Downloads > send to desktop) It will eliminate the temps if it is that causing the problem.
