Burn it in a blank disk, or make a bootable USB stick, either following the PART 2 of the tutorial of Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool, or using WinToFlash.

When done, follow Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console, store all your user data and other important data secured in another HDD/External HDD/partition.

Finally, do a Clean Install Windows 7, or Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, which works as good for retail too, and gives a perfect reinstall.

If any assistance is needed, ask us.

I booted the computer using the ISO disk and it immediately went to Startup Repair. The progress bar is moving, but it doesn't show a % completion and it says. "Attemping repairs...This might take over an hour to complete" There's also a cancel button. How long is this expected to take? What should I do if it takes a very long time?

A startup repair may take around 18-20 minutes at a maximum to be completed.

But, if you boot from the disc, it should not go to startup repair on it. For the startup repair, you have to press "repair my computer" button.

After allowing it a time, if it still continues, better you cancel it, and follow the links carefully.
