Idle computer crashes to BSOD, also happens randomly while surfing web

Ok, still at stock. So that rules that out.

On relatively rare occasions, the PSU can be the culprit - especially if overclocking with a lower quality unit. So, I'm relieved to see that you have a fairly decent PSU (it's not a great unit, but still). I'm also relieved that no overclocking has been done. I admit that I was worried about all of this due to the video card failure.

This is all I think I can contribute for now.

You say not great PSU why? Also When My video card went, a friend is giving me 2 GTX 260 to run in SLI will I still be Ok?

Absolutely. Two GTX 260s won't stress this PSU at all. All that would really be needed for that is a 650W power supply.

Regardless, I have a few questions:

1. How did you determine that the video card died? What video card was it?
2. Have you had any new BSODs since removing the 1.8V memory?
3. Have you been able to flash the motherboard's BIOS?

Twocables thanks just wanted to make sure
1 Video card was over heating and then the screen started flicking and after a coolong off the was no video after reboot. I took it out and reinserted in the slot still no video

2 No bSOD since removing. 1.8 Vmemory in fact replaced with cpmpatable memory at 2.1

3. no I did not flash bios based on the theroy if it ain't broke don't fix it. There is a bio update available

OMG no more BSODs! :)
